Scandicare Cares Leaving No One Behind

On 28/5/2024 @scandinavianCare_Organization held a SUCCESSFUL event on menstrual health and hygiene during the menstrual health day 2024 at Ongata Ronkai primary school together with students from Nakeel primary school special unit.

The event celebrated the importance of educating girls on menstrual health and providing them with essential knowledge and support thus helping them feel confident about menstruation.This is a positive step towards creating a safe and supportive environment where girls can openly discuss and manage their menstrual health.

The inclusion of boys in the event marked a crucial way of breaking stigma surrounding menstrual health,this helps to promote understanding, empathy and support for girl’ Menstrual Health journey.

On the 6th March 2024, ScandiCare.org brought together parents and caregivers of special needs children from Kiserian primary school for a psychosocial support training.
This training was aimed at equipping and empowering the caregivers with knowledge on some of the mental health challenges they are likely to encounter as well as self care tips as they navigate the demanding journey of raising a special needs child.

A focused group discussion and a safe space which allows every parent to speak their deepest thoughts on raising a special needs child. The caregivers also get a chance to speak about fatigue and the impact it has on their mental health.
